Barbie Malibu

Type: 35mm Point & Shoot
The Plastic Icon. This isn't just a camera; it’s a lifestyle. Retrospekt took the quintessential Barbie energy and put it into a fixed-focus 35mm shell that’s as fun to look at as it is to shoot. No settings, no stress, just pure "life in plastic, it’s fantastic" energy. If you want your photos to look like a sun-drenched memory from a 1980s summer vacation, you’ve met your match.
When to Use: For pool parties, beach days, and whenever your outfit is too good not to document in lo-fi. It’s the camera you toss in your tote bag without a second thought because it’s basically indestructible (and undeniably cute). Best used in bright, direct sunlight to get those vibrant, saturated Barbie colors.
Katie's Tips :
Barbie Malibu
Life in plastic, it’s photo-fantastic 🌴💖
This camera loves bright light. To get those iconic Malibu "sun-drenched" colors, aim for the brightest part of the day. The 31mm lens is slightly wide-angle, which is great for group shots, but remember that anything closer than 3 feet (1 meter) will be blurry. Keep your subjects at arm's length or further for that crisp, nostalgic look.
Format: 35mm Film (Standard 135 roll)
Lens: 31mm Fixed-Focus plastic lens
Aperture: Fixed at f/9 (Perfect for keeping those sunny landscapes sharp)
Shutter Speed: Fixed at 1/120s
Focus Range: 1 meter to Infinity
Viewfinder: Built-in optical viewfinder
Key Features: Lightweight 122g build; iconic Malibu Barbie styling.
Film Type: Compatible with any 35mm film
ISO Recommendation: Optimized for ISO 200 – 400
The "KatieK" Pro-Tip: Since the aperture is f/9, use ISO 200 for bright beach days and ISO 400 for everything else. If you're shooting indoors, always use the flash, or your photos will come out underexposed.
Loading: Manual thumbwheel advance and rewind
Requires 1x AAA battery (Not included)
Battery Purpose: The battery is only needed for the flash. The camera's shutter and film advance are purely mechanical, meaning you can still take photos in daylight even if your battery dies—you just won't have the flash!
