Polaroid Now Gen 3

Type: Modern Instant Film Camera (Gen 3 base model)
Contemporary Pop Art Instant. A bold, blue, MoMA-exclusive color block design. The Polaroid Now Gen 3 is the ultimate "moment catcher." It keeps the iconic, chunky silhouette we love but upgrades the internals for a much higher success rate than the vintage 600s. Made with 40% recycled plastic, it’s a more sustainable way to shoot analog. It’s for the shots that need that "dreamy," high-contrast Polaroid look – the kind you can’t replicate with a filter. It doesn't just take a photo; it develops a physical object in your hand.
When to Use: Perfect for the big life moments like birthdays, road trips, or just a Saturday that feels too good to forget. It’s a "social" camera that demands attention. Best served with a group of friends, plenty of light, and the patience to wait 15 minutes for the "big reveal."
Katie's Tips :
Polaroid Now Gen 3
The icon, optimized 🎞️🌈
Polaroid film is chemically alive. It hates extreme temperatures. If you’re shooting on a hot CT summer day, keep your film in a cool bag. If it's a Waterbury winter, keep the photo in an inside pocket close to your body heat while it develops. Also, the Double Exposure mode on the Gen 3 is incredible; press the self-timer button twice to activate it and layer two different vibes into one frame.
Format: Full-size Polaroid i-Type & 600 Film
Lens: Optical grade PC and Acrylic lens, coated
Autofocus: Two-lens autofocus system
The Fact-Check: The camera automatically switches between close-up (0.4m – 1.3m) and standard (1.0m – infinity) lenses, so you don’t have to toggle anything; it decides for you.
Aperture: Six usable apertures ranging from f/11 to f/64
Shutter Speed: 1/200 - 1s (Automatic)
Viewfinder: Integrated Optical Viewfinder
The Fact-Check: On the Gen 3, the light meter has been repositioned for more accurate exposures in bright light, meaning fewer "blown out" white skies
Flash: Vacuum discharge tube strobe (Accurate, human-friendly flash)
Key Features: Built-in Double Exposure mode and a 9-second Self-timer
Film Type: Polaroid i-Type (Battery-free) or Polaroid 600 (Vintage style)
Yield: 8 photos per pack
Development Time: 10 - 15 minutes (Shield from light while they "cook"!)
The "KatieK" Pro-Tip: Use i-Type film whenever possible; it’s cheaper because it doesn't include the battery (which this camera already has built-in)
Power: Internal High-performance Lithium-ion battery
Charging: USB-C (The Gen 3 officially ditched Micro-USB)
Battery Life: One full charge lasts for up to 15 film packs (approx 120 shots)
